Meet Dan Kirkland, MS, LPC-S

Born in the vibrant landscapes of South Louisiana, Dan's journey through life has been marked by the transitions of time and place, ultimately leading him to a profound passion for counseling. At the tender age of eight, Dan's family uprooted to Mississippi, immersing him in the rich tapestry of country living. Surrounded by the beauty of nature and embraced by a close-knit community, he discovered his affinity for horses, the art of fishing, and the joys of genuine human connections.

These experiences have uniquely equipped Dan with a deep understanding of the transformative power of connections. Having navigated the changes and challenges that come with moving, adapting, and connecting with others, he knows firsthand the importance of empathy, understanding, and effective communication. It's this wealth of personal experiences that enables him to connect with you on a profound level.

Dan was an active participant in the Future Farmers of America (FFA) and the Rodeo Team, fostering a deep appreciation for discipline and teamwork. Upon graduating from R.L. Turner High School in Carrollton, Texas, Dan embarked on his academic journey at Texas A&M University-Commerce, where his enthusiasm for the human mind and heart led him to pursue a Bachelor of Science degree with dual majors in Counseling and Psychology. This academic odyssey paved the way for his realization that his life's calling was intricately tied to helping others navigate the complexities of their own emotions and experiences.

Dan's quest for personal and professional growth continued as he pursued a Master of Science degree in counseling, a crucial milestone in his journey toward becoming a licensed professional counselor supervisor (LPC-S). The culmination of his academic pursuits was accentuated by a three-year internship, a rigorous period of hands-on learning that fortified his expertise and honed his counseling skills. Dan is a Gottman level-three therapist.. This dedicated journey prepared him to undertake and conquer the Texas State Examiners of Licensed Professional Counselors exam, solidifying his place in the realm of counseling.

Today, Dan stands as a testament to the transformative power of life's experiences. His upbringing in South Louisiana, his immersion in Mississippi's countryside, his academic voyage at Texas A&M-Commerce, and his commitment to personal and academic growth have all converged to shape the compassionate and skilled counselor he has become. With an unyielding dedication to his craft, Dan is poised to guide and support individuals, couples, and young adults on their own unique journeys toward self-discovery and healing. His journey is a reminder that every step, every chapter, and every transition contribute to the tapestry of who we are and who we strive to be. Dan invites you to embark on a transformative path of growth, connection, and healing together.
